Discovery Channel building Hostage Situation (Thread)

[Update: Lee was shot and killed by police. 3 hostages were released unharmed. Police are searching for additional bombs the suspect may have planted in the building.]

Taking a break from lurking to bring you the news of a man, confirmed to be James J. Lee, holding hostages in the Discovery Channel building, demanding a change for its current programming selection. His list of demands were recently released and if you read some of them, it's pretty damn ridiculous.

James J. Lee's demands: http://bit.ly/cnwv96

One of the demands state:
"Civilization must be exposed for the filth it is. That, and all its disgusting religious-cultural roots and greed. Broadcast this message until the pollution in the planet is reversed and the human population goes down! This is your obligation. If you think it isn't, then get hell off the planet! Breathe Oil! It is the moral obligation of everyone living otherwise what good are they??"

Now, what does this have to do with Colorless? Nothing, really, but those demands reminded me of what some extremist Colorless members here preach about in spam topics. I find this current situation bizarre, but with the way some of our members think, will they turn out to be the next "Mr. Lee"?

People these days =_= They never cease to amaze me...

Uh...

lol I told my parents and they are simpley dying of laughter because of that pycho's demands.

The only thing that concerns me...is the fact he's holding people hostage for such stupid reasons.

o.O speechless

@Takanashi I love how you related this guy to some people on Colorless, it might be a true fact.

It might, it might not, but there's so many people here that it's possible.

I mean, saving the planet is good and all, but proposing to destroy civilization and humanity because you think all people are filthy? It's ridiculous.

I sagree.....some green peach dude just went psycho... Much like this woman..

Oddly enough I agree with him on one point: "The planet doesn't need humans", which is true, our presence in this world has no benefit. Other than that, he's a complete idiot. Discovery Channel, really?

I APPLAUD THIS TWISTED SON OF A BITCH.

YOU KNOW WHAT, FUCK NBC, I'M GOING TO PULL A MR. LEE AND GET "WILL AND GRACE" BACK ON THE AIR.

@anon lol

raises hand That would be me. I am the one who hates humans and think that they are quite unnesessary on this planet. Also I firmly believe that human society is the most ugly and brutal thing there is.

Though I would not become another Mr. Lee. Reason being I am already a grown up person and I already became someone - myself. So the first post is wrong with this.

Also... one person would not change anything. Well, not this way. Come on, taking hostage the channel? I can see where he is going with that but I don't agree with the target.
You know what would be good terrorist method? Plant a small suit-case nuclear bomb in the capital of every country and then make your demands. That could give you some attention and meybe even result in giving some of the things you demand.

Or you may just be shot.

Also on a side-note... do you know that I actually do not watch television? At all. I recommend this to all of you too.

@anon
lmao.

So Mr. Lee here, was inspired by the mental words of a fictional gorilla named Ishmael. Inspiration to save the planet is nice, holding hostage, not so much.

@Kirn
I was nibbling on chicken when I saw it on CNN. Found the guy's manifesto and posted it. Thought it would be of some interest, actually.

of all the corporations or channels to destroy what did discovery channel ever do to you? They're actually one of the only channels around that provide useful info every now and then.

CNBC and the BBC on the other hand should be hanged.

Yeah I saw it on TV as soon as i got home...lol the cookie in my mouth just kinda fell to the floor because I was amzed at the stupidity of that man.

Hm. I can't say I disagree with the guy.

I do think that the human population is out of control, that there should be significantly less people in the world, that more people equals more war, and that humans are generally horrible.

And I don't blame the guy for wanting to save wildlife through getting rid of humans.

But, really. Taking hostage of the Discovery Channel ain't gonna do much. What an idiot.

Does he really thnk taking discovery channel hostage is gonna solve anything?

. . . i agree that humans are destroying the world and such, and that the more babies there are, the worse the situation gets, but this guy . . . hes acting like a child. if you want something done, do it yourself. if he wants to have shows promoting that kind of thing, he should just make his own tv station. taking hostage the discovery channel isnt really going to help . . . at all. and no matter how many shows he put on of Darwin and Malthus, i wouldnt change my religion, and personally, i dont view anyone with beliefs in gods as "stupid". (im a Christian). yeah . . . i dont like this guy . . . but i agree that humans are destroying the world.

If you want to solve the problem of overpopulation then make mass produced space flight, it's that simple.
